Plastic surgeon gifts you glowing skin with his best anti-aging tips.
He also says to stay away from certain skin care trends on social media.
Skin Saver
Dr Christopher Costa, founder of Platinum Plastic Surgery in Las Vegas, spoke to the U.S. Sun about the ultimate product that will turn back time.
“Retinol is a true anti-ageing powerhouse,” Dr Costa told the US Sun.
“It stimulates collagen production, improves skin texture, increases skin firmness and reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and sun damage,” he adds.
“Retinol also boosts cell turnover, promoting the removal of dead skin cells for healthier, more radiant, and more youthful looking skin.”
The best part is that it is much cheaper than plastic surgery.
Target sells The Ordinary Retinol 0.5% Squalane for $8.60.
The discovery is said to be able to combat signs of aging and dryness while improving uneven skin tone.
TikTok Trends turned off
Another of Dr Costas’ skincare commandments is to not get fooled by TikTok trends, particularly hyaluron pens.

“These are essentially off-brand, unregulated fillers administered by unqualified individuals,” he said.
“These are extremely dangerous and if the products enter the bloodstream they can cause infections, vascular problems and even blindness.”
This summer, you’ll want to pay special attention to your skin care.
That means avoiding contouring sunscreen.
“These are people applying sunscreen to areas they don’t want to tan, contouring and trying to achieve a sculpted look,” he said.
“This is in direct opposition to skin protection and anti-aging.”
Forget the flashiness
Dr Costa explained that not all skin care products are worth the price, and urged people to follow expert advice rather than the stars.
“There are a lot of expensive skin care product lines with flashy marketing and celebrity endorsements, but I think they often lack sufficient scientific evidence to justify the high price tag,” he said.
He advises against “eye-catching packaging” and “false promises.”
“Medical-grade skin care that’s backed by scientific studies and research generally delivers much higher quality results,” he said.
He makes a point of only spending his money on products that contain clinically proven ingredients.

Dr Costa previously spoke to the US Sun about his anti-wrinkle tips.
According to him, the most common mistake people make is waiting until they’re older to start taking care of their skin.
“Sunburn is the main cause of wrinkles and pigmentation, so sunscreen is the best preventative measure against premature ageing,” he said.
