The 2024 G7 summit is currently taking place in a spa resort in Italy’s Puglia region, with leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the United States coming together to address some of the world’s most pressing issues.
The event will be hosted by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni from June 13th to 15th and will take place in the Borgo Egnazia resort in the Itria Valley.
Key sessions will focus on Africa, climate change and development, Middle East conflict, the war in Ukraine, migration, Indo-Pacific economic security, and artificial intelligence and energy in Africa and the Mediterranean.
Pope Francis is also due to attend, becoming the first pope to attend a G7 summit, and is expected to speak about artificial intelligence.
