New Delhi: Centre for Yoga and Naturopathy Outpatient and Lifestyle Interventions, Safdarjung Hospital under Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, successfully organised a seminar titled “Integrating Yoga into Medical Practice for Promoting the Health of Patients and Health Professionals”.
The seminar brought together eminent experts from the fields of yoga, healthcare and research to explore the multifaceted benefits of incorporating yoga in healthcare settings.
The event was attended by around 85 medical professionals including Additional Medical Director of Safdarjung Hospital Ms Jayanti Mani, Dr RP Arora AMS, Dr Gaurav Arora AMS, allopathic doctors, residents, nursing staff, medical administrators and doctors from the AYUSH department, said Dr Sujata George, Senior Consultant Physician, Yoga & Naturopathy.
• Evidence-based insights into the physiological and psychological benefits of yoga from renowned speakers such as CCRYN Director Dr. Ragavendra Rao.
• Discussion of opportunities for collaborative research between researchers and practitioners to further validate and expand the use of yoga in healthcare settings.
• A practical session on healthy lifestyle practices and yoga for healthcare workers was spoken by Dr Athirai KR who highlighted the importance of yoga in reducing burnout and improving mental health among healthcare workers.
• To promote mental and physical wellbeing of employees, we have introduced the ‘Y-Break’ initiative, short guided yoga sessions designed by the Ministry of AYUSH for workplaces.
