In a recent viral video, the legendary dancer highlighted the benefits of Pilates on vitality and pain relief. Helen shared that since she started doing Pilates with trainer Yasmin Karachiwala, she feels more energetic, alive and happy. Previously, her knees were so painful that she needed injections, but they have improved so much that she can now walk unaided – something she attributes to Pilates.
Helen said she had relied on a cane due to knee problems and injections. She described her newfound independence in walking and hinted at the possibility of dancing again. Yasmin Karachiwala praised Helen’s dedication to her Pilates practice.
In the video, Helen told Karachiwala that she felt energized, vibrant and happy, and that she looked forward to her daily Pilates sessions. She said that Pilates gives a natural high, so no drugs are needed. She also thanked all her instructors, especially Bimal, and proudly stated that she is still doing Pilates at age 85.
The veteran actress revealed that fitness experts had always encouraged her to practice Pilates daily, but she would often put it off until the next day. As time went on, she felt guilty for putting it off and eventually consulted an expert and vowed to never miss a Pilates class again.
