Glastonbury will be hosting a new community gathering focused on silent meditation with the launch of ‘MASS’ on Sunday 23rd June 2024 in the Assembly Rooms.
This weekly event aims to offer locals and tourists an opportunity to explore their inner serenity in a tranquil setting.
MASS provides a space every Sunday for people to step away from the daily grind and engage in quiet contemplation.
The dimly lit auditory experience features soft music, the sound of water and candlelight and is designed to help participants connect deeply with their inner selves.
This is an inclusive event that welcomes people of all faiths, creeds, identities and sexual orientations. To maintain a sober and contemplative atmosphere, the use of alcohol and illegal drugs is prohibited.
Participants are welcome to visit MASS any time between 11am and 8pm. Admission is £4, payable at the door. No prior response is required and participants are free to come and go as they please in the main event space. To maintain a contemplative environment, talking and mobile phone use are prohibited in the meditation area; however, participants are welcome to enjoy snacks and socialising in the adjacent Awen Cafe.
The launch of MASS follows a successful soft opening that received positive feedback from attendees, with attendee Lynne Sedgmore describing the experience as “chic, innovative and soothing,” praising the thoughtful layout of the space and the variety of seating options available.
MASS aims to be a quiet retreat and community hub for relaxation and socializing, and the initiative was launched by local residents Caty Keen and Morgana Donfrancesco, who are committed to cultivating spiritual well-being.
