By making the practice of yoga accessible to all who visit, Ridgewood Yoga Studio helps residents escape the hustle and bustle of the hectic city and get some much-needed rest.
Everyone Yoga, which opened last year at 922 Onderdonk Ave., is based in Ridgewood.
The Ridgewood studio brings yoga into the daily lives of local residents and yoga enthusiasts, from beginners to professionals, and also aims to attract hospitality workers from the food and service industry to join the studio.
Ana Sofia Ibarra, co-founder and creative director of Everyone Yoga, said the decision to open a yoga studio in the neighborhood was born out of a growing need for a safe place where people could improve their wellness.
“We created Everyone Yoga to fill a void by providing a walkable space where people can feel welcome, safe and accepted,” says Ibarra, who is also a recognized Reiki Master and yoga instructor. “Everyone Yoga is our way of celebrating Ridgewood. We created a brand that reflects the diversity, friendliness and compassion of this community.”

Everyone Yoga co-founders Maggie Malesytcki and Amelie Kang brought special expertise that aligned with the studio’s mission when they entered the yoga field.
Maresicki, who works in the restaurant industry, discovered peace and healing through yoga. Her experience in the food and beverage industry inspired her partnership with Kang, who founded Chinese Sichuan restaurant MÁLÀ PROJECT. Together, the two aim to introduce yoga to hospitality workers.
Last month, Everyone Yoga partnered with MÁLÀ PROJECT to host the restaurant’s monthly managers’ meeting. The trip to a yoga studio became a retreat for the restaurant staff, who participated in a four-hour combination meditation and yoga class. Kang says the addition of yoga provided a wholesome experience for the hard-working restaurant employees.
“We were surprised by the positive impact that meditation and yoga had on our meetings,” Kang said. “Our managers became more open, proactive, and productive. We recognized the great benefits meditation and yoga bring and will continue to provide more opportunities like this to our employees.”
The studio’s mission, supported by its co-founders, aims to support local businesses by fostering a supportive environment in Ridgewood.
Everyone Yoga’s community classes start at $10 for a drop-in class, with other affordable packages available for customers on a budget.
The yoga studio offers a wide variety of yoga classes as well as a range of other classes including mat pilates, Zumba, breathwork and specialist sessions such as prenatal yoga, kids yoga and baby & me yoga.
Everyone Yoga encourages residents and folks in the neighborhoods of Middle Village, Glendale, Bushwick and Greenpoint to join the studio and attend yoga classes.
