New Delhi: Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut on Saturday criticised people praising the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer who allegedly slapped her at Chandigarh airport and asked whether it was acceptable if someone was raped or murdered.
“Rapists, murderers and thieves all have strong emotional, physical, psychological or economic reasons for committing their crimes. No crime ever happens without a reason, and yet they are convicted and sent to prison,” she writes.
“If you identify with the strong emotional urges of criminals to break all laws of the country and commit crimes, if you are comfortable invading someone’s intimate sphere, touching them without their permission and assaulting them, then remember deep down you also have no qualms about rape and murder, because those too are mere penetration and stabbing,” Kangana wrote on Twitter.
“Please take up yoga and meditation, otherwise life will become a painful and burdensome experience. Free yourself from too much resentment, hatred and jealousy,” she added.
CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur has been accused of “intentionally causing hurt” and “wrongful restraint” in an FIR filed by Mohali police on Friday. The charges stem from his alleged confrontation and slapping of Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport.
Following Kangana’s complaint, the CISF suspended Kulwinder Kaur. Despite her suspension, Kulwinder has received support from various individuals and organisations, some of which have offered her financial and legal assistance in case she is arrested or fired.
