St. Joseph Health System (SJHS) is proud to be the recipient of the 2024 Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America (MHA). The Bell Seal is the first-ever certification for workplace mental health that recognizes employers who strive to create a mentally healthy workplace for their employees.
MHA is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting mental health, well-being and disease prevention for all. MHA has studied workplace mental health for decades and in 2019 introduced the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health to recognize companies and organizations that understand the value of addressing mental health in the workplace and have implemented policies and practices that support employee well-being.
BelleSeal recognizes employers’ progress in workplace mental health by awarding certification levels of Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Only 1 in 4 employers meet the standards for BelleSeal certification. SJHS underwent a rigorous assessment of its policies and practices in four areas: workplace culture, benefits, compliance and wellness programs.
Achieving status as a Belle-Seal Certified Organisation demonstrates SJHS’s ongoing commitment to the mental health and wellbeing of its employees.
“St. Joseph Health System is committed to investing in the mental health of our colleagues,” said Chris Karam, president of St. Joseph Health System. “Colleagues who have work-life balance, access to mental health resources and feel supported during difficult times can focus on being compassionate caregivers.”
SJHS is committed to providing the best for its employees and is committed to continuing its efforts to uphold the standards set by Belleciel on workplace mental health.
