Participants will come together for an Orange Party as part of a “Celebrate Wellness” initiative to support the local hospitality industry.
On Thursday, June 13, Celebrate Wellness will host its second annual Orange Party, a fundraiser designed to raise awareness and funds for Celebrate Wellness programs. The event will be held at the Big Chill Beach Club in Delaware Seashore State Park.

Celebrate Wellness, founded as the nonprofit community arm of La Vida Hospitality, has been making great strides by providing support and relief to communities in need. Last year they hosted 11 free wellness classes, created a resource library available to all hospitality workers, launched the Celebrate Wellness website, and are now focused on financially supporting hospitality workers through therapy.
In an IBR-approved survey conducted with the expertise of Karinne Anderson LCSW/CADC in Fall 2023, results show that 76% of hospitality workers have experienced mental health concerns and 55% find it difficult to ask for help. Celebrate Wellness aims to reduce these numbers and start difficult conversations about the importance of good mental health.
Director of Development Cathy MacDonald said she feels “addressing vulnerability should be the new agenda in the hospitality industry.” Asking for help should be easier, she said.
“Celebrate Wellness is committed to promoting the health of the community and hospitality workers in support of the overall goal of improving lives. This is accomplished through education, financial support and connections to wellness professionals. With the efforts of Celebrate Wellness, La Vida hopes that it will be easier for local hospitality workers to seek out and receive help.”
McDonald expressed her excitement for this year’s party.
“The Orange Party is special to me because it raises money and awareness for a cause that I founded and ran,” she said. “It’s exciting to see it all come to fruition.”
