How to perform Vat Savitri Vrat?
In Vat Savitri Vrat, the banyan tree is worshipped as per traditional rituals. While circumambulating the tree, a raw silk is wrapped around it 7 or 11 times. If raw silk is not available, a karava (sacred thread) can be used. After circumambulating the tree, water is offered to the tree and one sits under the tree and listens to the story of Vat Savitri Vrat. Finally, one prays to the deity for the long life and good health of the husband.
