For picky eaters who struggle with meal ideas, one woman’s creative solution might be just the culinary inspiration you need.
Known on social media as @vvardy, the innovative foodie has been creating a buzz online with the launch of what she calls a “savory cereal” for dinner. In her TikTok video, which has garnered more than 72,000 likes, she shows off a mix of potato pops, stuffing balls, chicken pops and mini Kievs, all drenched in gravy inside an edible Yorkshire pudding bowl.
As she poured the gravy, she said, “Yeah, I overdid it, but you’re welcome.” The idea has drawn mixed reactions from TikTok users, with some hailing it as “genius” and others questioning its nutritional value.
One enthusiastic user exclaimed: “This is genius. Why didn’t a beige food expert like me think of this before? It has changed my life.”
Another person was equally impressed, commenting: “What a concept,” while another requested: “Three servings of yummy cereal please.”
A fourth fan proclaimed: “This is the best invention ever. Thank you so much.”
But not everyone was convinced, with critics suggesting healthier alternatives, with one viewer suggesting: “Why not just take half the serving and replace half with veggies?”
Another person commented: “I can’t have an all beige meal. If we want to keep with the round theme we need colours like peas, carrots and sprouts.”
Finally, one user joked: “Savory cereal… so that’s soup?”
Countless parents have battled with a picky eater at one point or another, and while it’s natural to worry about whether your child is eating enough, giving them too many options is the biggest mistake you can make, says Sarah Deley, a mom and nutritionist.
Writing on her Instagram account, “Nourishing Picky Eaters,” Sarah pointed out that parents were giving their children “too much control” when it came to food.
