Superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday (May 30) set out on a pilgrimage from Dehradun. As part of his holy journey, Rajinikanth will be visiting Kedarnath and Badrinath temples, two of the holiest religious sites in India and part of the Char Dham Yatra.
The actor left Chennai in the wee hours of Thursday for Dehradun, a city in the northern state of Uttarakhand. The actor was spotted at the Dehradun airport, where he spoke about his spiritual journey.
“Every year I get new experiences and have undertaken many spiritual journeys. I believe this time too I will get new experiences,” he told news agency ANI.
Amid tight security, Rajinikanth was seen in casual attire.
The actor makes sure to visit these two holy sites every year.
The spiritual journey of Char Dham Yatra began on May 10 with four revered holy places of Hinduism including Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Rajinikanth recently returned from a short trip to Dubai. The actor was granted a Golden Visa by the UAE. The celebrated actor, known for his work in the South Indian film industry, received the prestigious visa on May 23.
As part of his UAE trip, the actor visited the newly opened Hindu temple BAPS.
Rajinikanth has completed the shooting of his next film Vettaiyan. The film is written and directed by TJ Gnanavelu and also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier and Dussehra Vijayan.
The film is currently in post-production and is scheduled for release in October this year. Meanwhile, the actor is set to begin shooting for his next film. coolie The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagrajas.
