Elle Simone Scott, a Detroit native and cast member on “America’s Test Kitchen,” has released a new cookbook, “Food Gifts: 150+ Irresistible Recipes for Crafting Personalized Presents” (America’s Test Kitchen, $30).
“Food is one of the greatest gifts you can give because it’s the gift that fosters human connection,” Scott writes in the book, which is a guide to “cooking, baking, assembling and creating homemade food gifts that look and taste amazing.”

There are gift ideas for everything from celebrating the holidays to welcoming new neighbors, and Scott also shares tips for keeping food gifts fresh and how to package food in canning jars, cellophane bags, and more.
