Use hydrating summer fruits to create desserts and add a sweet twist. Check out these easy fruit dessert recipes that you can try to beat the heat.

Summer is the season for colorful, hydrating fruits that are a must-have to beat the heat. From juicy mangoes to sweet pineapples, the list of summer fruits is long. These fruits are high in water content and are a must-have during the summer months. You can peel, slice and eat them or you can make delicious and healthy desserts out of them. Check out our list of fruit dessert recipes that you can try at home.

If you’re looking for a fruit that’s great for hydrating, think watermelon. According to the USDA, 100 grams of watermelon contains 91.4 grams of water. When it comes to fruits with high water content, pineapple isn’t far behind. According to the USDA, 100 grams of pineapple contains 86 grams of water.

As well as being high in water content, these hydrating summer fruits are also packed with vitamins and minerals – watermelon, for example, is packed with vitamins A and C, which support immune function and skin health, says nutritionist Shruti Kelskar. Here are some fruit dessert recipes to try.

Summer Fruit Dessert Recipes

1. Yogurt-based orange popsicles

material

  • 2 cups fresh orange juice (about 4-5 oranges)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top to allow for expansion when frozen.
  • Place popsicle sticks into molds. If your molds don’t have built-in sticks, wait until the mixture is partially frozen (about an hour) and then insert a wooden stick to help it stand upright.
  • Place the mold in the freezer and freeze for 4-6 hours or until completely set.
  • Gently remove popsicles from molds and enjoy.
