May 30th is National Mint Julep Day, and to celebrate the occasion, here’s a special recipe from the Disney Recipe Vault for a Green Tea Berry Mint Julep. This delicious drink is served in several varieties at Walt Disney Resorts.
The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival serves up some delicious drinks every year, and a favorite for a few years now has been the Green Tea Mint Julep. Now you can make it at home whenever the mood strikes. The mint syrup can be made up to two weeks in advance and stored in the fridge.

For the mint simple syrup:
- Wash and chop the mint leaves.
- Combine the sugar, water, and mint leaves in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

- Allow to cool to room temperature. Cover and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
For the Green Tea Berry Mint Julep:
- Bring the water to a boil, let it cool for a minute and pour it into a heat-resistant container.
- Add a tea bag and let steep for 2-3 minutes, then remove the tea bag and allow the tea to cool.
- Place the cooled tea in a shaker and mix with the blackberry puree, raspberry syrup, mint syrup and lime juice. Shake and strain into a tall glass with ice.
- Garnish with fresh berries and mint.
Cooknote: Blend in a blender with ice for a delicious frozen julep. If you’re 21 or older, add 1 1/4 ounces of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey for an adult flavor.
Always use caution when handling sharp objects or hot contents.
Please be sure to keep a close eye on children who are helping out or who are nearby.
