Workshop Pilates has opened its third location at the new Arcadia Improvement Club, located at 3802 E. Indian School Road.
The Workshop’s Arcadia location will host infrared heated mat Pilates classes, improving flexibility and cardiovascular toning with a 95-degree, infrared-heated, detoxifying workout, according to a press release.
“We saw a need for an infrared heated mat Pilates concept in the Valley area and knew Workshop was the perfect studio to bring that burn,” Workshop Pilates co-owner Ariel Schwartz said in the release. “Heated fitness offers many benefits to the body and mind, including improved immunity, detoxification, pain relief and lower blood pressure, and we have no doubt the Arcadia community will love it as much as we do.”
The new studio is the proud tenant of the historic building formerly home to the Madison Improvement Club, which closed in August 2023. The workshop will continue the fitness tradition at the newly named Arcadia Improvement Club. The 5,264-square-foot space will also feature an esthetician treatment space and a fresh juice bar.
Built in 1917, this historic location was once an important meeting place for pioneer women to discuss politics, agriculture, education, music and the arts. In 2012, after initial renovations, the Madison Improvement Club opened its doors to a community of fitness, spin and yoga enthusiasts. The building is a cherished institution in the Arcadia community, and the reopening of the restored space marks an important milestone.
“We know that fitness is at the heart of this historic facility, and we can’t wait to bring Workshop Pilates principles to Arcadia,” Workshop Pilates co-owner Jackie Parks said in the release. “We believe in the power of Pilates to change lives, and we look forward to strengthening the bonds between body and community in this close-knit neighborhood.”
In addition to infrared heated mat Pilates, Workshop Pilates Arcadia offers a range of different types of Pilates for all levels.
• Movement: We will work on all facets of movement using a variety of equipment and props. The class will finish with a series of stretches specially designed for the workshop.
• Circuit: A full-body workout moving from station to station using a variety of Pilates equipment, enhancing your workout with BOSU balls, resistance bands and weights.
• Elevate: Enhance your Pilates routine with a jump board, high-intensity interval training and cardio.
• MELT: Our expert workshop instructors will lead you through a reformer yoga flow and deep stretches to gently awaken and lengthen your muscles.
Locally owned and operated by entrepreneurs Jackie Parks and Ariel Schwartz, Workshop Pilates opened its first location in McCormick Ranch in 2020 and plans to open a second location in North Scottsdale in 2023. In that time, Workshop has quickly become a top fitness studio among Valley residents and Pilates enthusiasts.
