Salt Spring’s Taoist Tai Chi® group meets every Wednesday evening in the hall below All Saints and welcomes new participants of all levels of experience.

Taoist Tai Chi® teaches that health comes when body, mind and spirit become one. This moving meditation works on all aspects of a person, helping them reduce stress and find energy, balance and joy.

In Taoist Tai Chi® practice, every system and part of the body, from muscles to connective tissue to bones, is penetrated and transformed with natural, gentle movements, creating strength. This strength is also mental and emotional. As participants become more resilient, they worry and struggle less and are able to calmly face any challenge life throws at them.

This practice increases the elasticity of muscles, tendons and fascia, allowing the body to function naturally and move more freely. At the same time, this flexibility extends to the mind, helping people feel freer, more balanced and in more harmony with those around them.

As strength and flexibility penetrate deep within your body, you experience the powerful effects of meditation: you become more still, your mind calmer, and you become more clear and dynamic. This feeling begins in Taoist Tai Chi® meditation but then deepens, permeating and enriching every aspect of your life.
