Metro sponsored the event on their website. The Louisville Metro Department of Corrections promotes health and wellness for correctional officers. The department held its first ever Mental Health and Wellness Fair with the theme Health, Wealth and Wise. The fair featured organizations offering information on financial wellness, physical health, mental health and other resources. The Humane Society also provided two dogs for adoption. A big goal of the fair is to eliminate stigma. The idea of wellness is that because we work in a very stressful field, we want our officers to understand that we can build a support system and that being healthy means many different things.
