Rancho Cucamonga, California, May 28, 2024 Inland Empire Health Plan’s (IEHP) Riverside Community Wellness Center (CWC) held a graduation ceremony on November 14, 2018 to celebrate the first class of 22 students in the 24/7 Dads program. April 26.
Inland Empire Health Plan’s Community Wellness Center in Riverside recently completed its first class of “24/7 Dads,” a program aimed at helping local fathers and father figures bond with their children.
Center leaders and representatives from Sigma Beta XI honored the 22 participants at a graduation ceremony April 26. The group will last six weeks and meet on Fridays at the center on Tyler Street.
Founder Moreno ValleySponsored by the nonprofit Sigma Beta XI (SBX) Youth & Family Services, 24/7 Dads is a six-week program that introduces fathers and father figures to a curriculum designed to deepen the bond with their children. By partnering with SBX, Riverside CWC is connecting its community with its community with its community with its community. Riverside County Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty and violence through mentoring, education and community organizing.
“We want to bring the community together to support programs and tools that ensure parents and children thrive and build strong bonds with one another,” the CWC supervisor said. Violetta Clark Said.
At the ceremony in late April, Van Houston of Riverside He reflected on the importance of the program and told staff he wants to spread its benefits to friends, neighbors and even strangers.
“The value of this program was the diversity of topics discussed and the really fascinating people who attended,” Houston said. “For men, it’s often a struggle to be vulnerable and express emotions outside of this environment, so this is a great program to learn how to do that.”
New 24/7 Dads cohort begins May 10however, registrations are still open for future sessions, which will take place every Friday. 4pm to 6pm There is no participation fee until the program is completed.
