The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Ayurveda, Government of India, will be organising “Pharmaceutical Research in Ayurveda and Technological Innovations (PRAGATI-2024)” at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 28th May 2024. The conference aims to explore research opportunities and foster collaboration between CCRAS and the Ayurvedic pharmaceutical industry.
The event will be inaugurated by Secretary, Ministry of Ayurveda, Rajesh Kotecha who will deliver a keynote address on the role of industry in the advancement of Ayurveda. Joint Secretary, Kavita Garg and Dr. Kustava Upadhaya, Advisor, Ministry of Ayurveda will also be participating in the programme.
Leading the interactive conference from CCRAS side will be Prof. Vaidya Rabinarayan Acharya, Secretary General, CCRAS, who will highlight the importance of high quality, safe and effective Ayurvedic products that are research based. The main objective of the conference is to unleash the full potential of Ayurvedic stakeholders in drug and device development by connecting researchers and industrial partners involved in manufacturing and innovation of Ayurvedic formulations.
The objectives of PRAGATI-2024 include leveraging research findings and technologies developed by CCRAS and establishing a strong network for collaboration in quality control, drug standardization, product development and validation. Further, the conference will identify potential industrial partners with in-house R&D facilities and explore opportunities for capacity building of researchers in drug manufacturing and product development. It also aims to help Ayurvedic experts set up start-ups and incubation centres and promote entrepreneurship in Ayurvedic pharma.
The event will be attended by representatives of 35 pharma companies from across the country, including CEOs of renowned companies like Himalaya, Emami, Baidhanath, Davar, IMPCL, Arya Vaidya Sara, Oushadhi, IMPCOPS etc. Experts from organisations like CII, Ayush Eksil, PCIMH, NRDC etc have also registered to participate in this interactive conference.
A comprehensive report detailing 35 formulations and three devices developed or in development by CCRAS (including notable products like Ayush 64, Ayush SG and Ayush Gutti) will be presented to the participating industries for discussion and consideration.
The expected outcome of PRAGATI-2024 is to identify potential industrial partners willing to collaborate with CCRAS, exchange scientific knowledge and utilize research findings and products for the development of Ayurvedic medicines.
The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between networks and organisations, ultimately benefiting Ayurvedic clinicians and patients through improved Ayurvedic medicine products and innovative solutions.
