Superfood Powders Aim to Provide Whole Food Nutrition

Growing up in Iowa, Elizabeth Nelson is no stranger to agriculture. She fondly remembers visiting her grandparents’ farm, walking the fields in front of their big red barn and eating meals made with fruits and vegetables from their garden.

Since then, Nelson has combined his love of gardening with his care for people to bring a new superfood powder to market: Farm Fueled Nutrition.

This powder contains essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants from real, whole foods from small farms. Ingredients include spirulina, ashwagandha, chia, flax, chlorella, elderberry, turmeric, papaya and other fruits and vegetables, each of which plays a role in improving digestion, immunity and energy.

“It’s a simple vegetable product, but if this product can inspire people to understand that nutrition comes from whole foods, maybe they’ll understand the importance of agriculture and buy more locally grown products,” Nelson said. “Not everyone can grow their own food, but everyone can.” [growers]. “

A gardening enthusiast herself, Nelson hopes her products will support small farmers around the world while encouraging regenerative agricultural practices that don’t destroy land or deplete soil nutrients.

“The manufacturers I use are big on regenerative agriculture and using real food,” she said. “They use eco-friendly practices and have similar values to me. They really support small-scale farmers, which helps sustain the communities where they live, whether that’s India or Africa.”

One of the reasons Nelson chose to go into health and wellness is the loss she has experienced throughout her life: After losing friends and family to a stroke and cancer, Nelson decided to focus her energy on making a positive difference in the lives of people in her community.

“A lot of people don’t get enough nutrition. I have friends who have taken this supplement who say they feel better, their skin looks better, they feel more hydrated. I’ve even had cancer survivors take this supplement and they love knowing they’re getting the nutrients they need,” Nelson says. “Your food should be from the sources of nutrients that will help you live longer.”

For now, Farm Fueled Nutrition sells one product, but in the future they hope to add mushroom powder and a children’s product to encourage healthy eating habits in the next generation. They also hope to partner with more local Montana farmers in the future to continue sourcing and promoting health and wellness through farm-to-table and agricultural practices.

“It tastes great,” she says. “My kids love it, and when I sent them samples, they were like, ‘Oh, it’s so good.’ I’ve tried all the other big-name brands, and this doesn’t have that grassy taste.”

There are many ways to use the superfood powder: add it to pancake mixes, salad dressings, smoothies, baked goods, or simply mix it into a glass of hot or cold water. Currently, Farm Fueled Nutrition is only sold online, but Nelson is working to increase availability by adding the product to health food stores across the Flathead Valley.

“This gives your body everything it needs for cellular function and provides the energy it needs. These vegetables add nutrients needed for optimal health. We’re not perfect, but we want the best for our bodies.”
