Cooking is a minor but extremely useful side feature in Paper Mario: Millennium Kingdom. While it’s not available from the start, you’ll find yourself using it frequently for some side quests and general healing.
Once you’ve unlocked Zess T.’s shop, you can bring her ingredients that she can use to cook – there are 57 of these dishes in total – and any dishes you cook will be added to the Recipe Book section of your journal.
We’ve compiled a list of all the recipes in the game, plus how to unlock Zess T. and upgrade your cooking equipment.
How to Unlock Cooking
At the start of the game, Zest T. is blocking the entrance to West Rogueport. She is searching for her dropped contact lenses, but no matter what she does, Mario steps on them and breaks them. You will need to go to the Rogueport Item Shop and have the shopkeeper order new lenses for you.
Lenses will be available in stock once you complete Chapter 1.From there, you can purchase the Lens for 10 coins and return it to Zess T. to unlock her dish and gain access to Western Rogueport.
How to upgrade your dishes
At first, Zest T can only create dishes using one ingredient, but once you’ve completed Chapter 4, a notice will appear in the Trouble Center announcing that you’re searching for a legendary cookbook, which can be found in the Spooky Spire Treasure Vault, accessed by rolling through a hole in the building’s entrance.
Once you give her this cookbook, she will be able to cook recipes that use more than one ingredient. Many of the recipes listed below call for two ingredients.

Once you’ve cooked a recipe, you can see the name and ingredients of the finished dish in the recipe section of your journal. There are a total of 57 recipes on the GameCube and 58 on the Nintendo Switch.We will update this guide as we find additional recipes.
All recipes are organized based on the order they appear in your journal, making it easy to keep track of the recipe you want. If you prefer, you can also sort the recipes alphabetically or by ingredients.
