The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) wants your favorite fish recipes.
The agency began exchanging recipes last fall, and this will be the first opportunity for them to share tips on how to cook fish.
Your recipe and the story behind it may be featured on social media by the DNR later this summer.
“Recipes can have special meaning to many people,” said DNR Marketing Coordinator Carla Hanson, noting that recipes may also have cultural significance or have been passed down in families for generations.

Hanson isn’t expecting anyone to spill their secret family recipes and cause drama, but she does hope to see a wide range of ideas for preparing fish on the shore and in the kitchen.
“Minnesota has so many different species of native fish that people can catch and eat,” she said, “which means there are so many different types of fish and preparations with so many different cultural backgrounds.”
She knows Minnesotans have a passion for fishing and how to prepare fish.
“One of my favorite family recipes that my dad always makes are crappie tacos,” Hanson said. “We always love to put fresh crappie in tacos with cilantro and lime sauce. It’s a really tasty way to enjoy crappie.”
Fish recipes can be submitted to the Wild Minnesota Recipe Exchange through the end of June.
