Trinity Sunday
Sunday, May 26th, First Presbyterian Church of DeLand To celebrate Trinity Sunday, the belief that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are immeasurably present in the world, the church will worship in a single joint service at 10:30 a.m. As is customary on the last Sunday of each month, the music will include: ChoirThe traditional meme Praise BandContemporary style.
After the service, the church family welcomed the attendees. Potluck LunchWe ask that volunteers bring side dishes and desserts to accompany the main courses provided by the church, but those who do not wish to bring anything are also welcome to do so.
On Water Day, May 26th, following a potluck lunch, all ages, but especially young people, are invited to bring their swimsuits and towels. Casey Riker Lead the fun.
At the service, the pastor Michael Boger We teach on Trinity Sunday according to the Presbyterian liturgical calendar. In Psalm 29, David sings, “Give to the Lord the glory due his name in the splendor of his holiness.” John 3:16 declares, “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.” And in Romans 8:16, Christians find the perfect Trinity in “the Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” How immeasurably present God is in this world!

Ladies’ Tee and annually Minimum Coin OfferingAdmission is $5 and you can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast, beverages and fellowship, along with the installation of the 2024-2025 elected officers, a full program and a preview of the circle program planned for our reopening in September.
Looking ahead, the First Presidency asks members and visitors to continue to learn about the Youth Trip to Montreat in June, Vacation Bible School in July, Sunday and Weekday Bible Studies, Pastor Boger’s Sabbatical, and the Summer Series on Spiritual Practices in June.

First Church of Deland The pastor is launching a new sermon series, “Life in Six Words.” Mark BitnerEach week’s sermon will focus on one word that can help us grow spiritually every day by contemplating that particular word.
Wednesday evening Bible studies have been suspended for the summer and are scheduled to resume in September.
Uniting Against Hate
Sunday, May 26th at 10:30am First Unitarian Universalist Church, West Volusia, DeLand Learn about the United Against Hate community outreach program. Kevin WinchellStetson University’s Associate Director of Community Engagement explains that the program will be implemented in all 94 U.S. Attorney’s Offices and aims to improve hate crime reporting by teaching community members how to identify, report and prevent hate crimes, and building trust between law enforcement and the community.
Stetson University has partnered with the NAACP and the Volusia County African American Leadership Council to expand this outreach throughout the community.
Winchell is responsible for creating and leading campus-community engagement efforts, directing Stetson University’s Bonner Program, and supporting campus and community political engagement through student voter registration and outreach efforts. He is the founder/director of Democratic Strategies, a consulting firm for candidates, businesses, and nonprofits, and founder/director of Politics 101.

Memorial Sunday
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of DeLandalong with Rev. Carlos Perezis celebrating Memorial Sunday, May 26, in a different way. Congregants can donate to the Memorial Day Fund in memory of those who have died. Their names will be added to a memorial list that will be read at the memorial service. The list will be framed and displayed in the church foyer for one year. A new list is created each year.
Those who donate to the Memorial Memorial Fund will receive a personalized certificate bearing the recipient’s name.
The memorial fund will be used as a “fund for the future” to meet the future needs of the church. Bill McIntyre and Dorothy Ashton I’m in charge of the list.
