During Turkish Food Week from 21st to 27th May, various events were held at the Historical Museum Castle in the Marmaris district of Muğla.
The event, which attracted local and international tourists, featured centuries-old Turkish cuisine served alongside exciting folk entertainment and music concerts.
The event began with a moment of silence at Marmaris Castle and the recitation of the national anthem, followed by menus prepared by chefs from the district’s seven five-star hotels from the book “Turkish Cuisine with Centuries of Recipes.”
After a folk arts performance by the folk arts team of the District Public Education Center Authority and primary school students, the guests were served food.
At the event, Marmaris District Governor Nurullah Kaya said: “We are gathered today to present a little bit of Turkish cuisine in Marmaris. This event will continue for a week with skilled cooks and chefs. Today we will have a tasting here. The taste and recipes of sustainable Turkish cuisine will be passed on to future generations,” and expressed his gratitude to all the institutions, organizations and hotels that supported the event.
British guests who attended the event and sampled a range of Turkish dishes commented that the food was delicious and flavoursome and that they have already fallen in love with Turkish cuisine.
The event, held at the Marmaris Castle Museum, was attended by city representatives, academics, the Chamber of Commerce, British tourists and local tourists staying in the district’s hotels.
