A naturopathic doctor reveals the secret to getting natural energy – “so simple it’s embarrassing” – but most people don’t do it.
Crystal Blanchard, a practitioner at Durham Natural Health Centre in Ontario, Canada, has more than 38,000 followers on TikTok, where she promotes gut health.
The content creator, who goes by the handle @drchristalnd, recently shared an often-overlooked habit that boosts energy and costs next to nothing.
“I feel silly talking about this because I have some very cheap and easy energy-saving tips,” she admits at the beginning of the video.
Crystal Blanchard, a naturopathic doctor at the Durham Natural Health Centre in Ontario, Canada, recently spoke about an often-overlooked habit that can boost your energy and cost you very little.
Blanchard recalled drinking water when she felt low on energy: “A few hours later, I felt like I had had coffee,” she said.
“But I also think it’s silly not to talk about this, because it’s so easy and so cheap that we should all be doing it, but I don’t think most of you are doing it.”
Blanchard explained that whenever she feels her energy is low, she thinks about having a cup of coffee or seeing if it’s time to get a vitamin B12 shot.
“I started thinking of external things that you can put into your body that will immediately help boost your energy,” she said.
“But the other day I decided to try just water.”
She acknowledged that “sounds silly” and said she’s already “drinking a lot of water.”
However, she was busy that day and wasn’t able to stay hydrated as she normally would.
“So I drank water, and a few hours later I felt like I’d had coffee,” she recalled.
“No, it didn’t give me the immediate boost or energy that coffee gives you, but it did give me long-lasting energy.”
“I didn’t collapse afterwards, but it made me think about how many people come back from practice exhausted.”
Health experts explained that water reduces inflammation, relieves constipation, reduces brain fog, aids in natural detoxification, and increases energy.
Blanchard’s video prompted commenters to share their own tips for drinking water.
“I always check their intake records and they’re not drinking enough water.”
Blanchard said she does all these things to treat her fatigue, including adrenal support and vitamin B12 injections, but the answer may be as simple as staying hydrated.
She explained in on-screen text that the water reduces inflammation, relieves constipation, reduces brain clutter and supports natural detoxification, which can increase energy.
“I stress the importance of water, but I don’t think we realize how important and influential it is for the functioning of our brains and bodies,” she concluded.
“If you’re low on energy and have tried everything…try this,” she added in the caption.
“If you’re not in the habit of drinking plenty of water, it may take a week or two to see results.”
‘you [may] And if water is being lost, you should add Himalayan salt and minerals to help absorb it into your cells.”
