The San Diego Union-Tribune Book Festival featured a large selection of books in a variety of genres, including cookbooks. Among them, “Cooking with Erma Gray” stands out for its simple, conversational instructions and the spirit of Mississippi’s culinary traditions. Irma Gray continues to carry her passion for cooking inherited from her mother and her ancestors. She hopes the book will inspire a new generation to teach Southern-style cooking and keep the tradition alive.

The San Diego Union-Tribune’s 7th Annual Book Festival featured a diverse range of publications for all your lifestyle needs. For those looking to hone their cooking skills with a touch of Southern style, “Cooking with Irma Gray” Provides a great example. Erma Gray was born and raised in Mississippi and comes from a family of beloved community cooks. Her personal cookbook was officially published about 10 years ago, but many of the recipes in it date back even further to her grandmother’s time. Erma was born and raised in Shelby, Mississippi. She attended Broad Street High School. Elma worked for companies such as Baxter Research Institute, St. Regis Paper Company, Hormel Foods, and Quaker Oats. Her friends and her family have always needed her help and her expertise in the areas of cooking and apparel design for special occasions. This led Elma to become an independent entrepreneur, offering catering and apparel design services. Erma and her husband Marvin Gray are happily married and reside in Dallas, Texas. She has three sons, Darrell Gray, Johnny Gray, and Cupid Gray, a daughter, Jacqueline Gray, and her grandson, Pedrick Gray, who inspired me to write this book. Masu.
