Founded in 2012, USANA Foundation’s mission is to end hunger and malnutrition around the world.
Malapascua Island, located on the northern coast of Cebu Island, is a popular tourist destination for divers due to its crystal clear blue waters and rich aquatic ecosystem. Beyond its beauty, there is a fundamental problem of malnutrition among the local population, rooted in limited economic opportunities and a lack of accessible nutritional sources.
“Malnutrition is widespread in Malapascua because of the lack of access to affordable nutrition,” he said. brian paul, Chairman, USANA Foundation. “This project will help provide sustainable and accessible nutrition to the island, which is expected to improve the quality of life and health of the local population. Malapascua Island is a unique island with unique challenges. We look forward to seeing what Garden Tower will bring to the community.” ”
The USANA Foundation Garden Tower is an innovative solution to providing sustainable, nutritious food to people around the world. Each tower is made from durable materials, lasts up to five years, can hold up to 120 plants, and uses 30% less water. In addition to being a source of nutrition, garden towers can also generate income for families through the sale of surplus vegetables, promoting self-reliance, and fostering community cooperation.
Through the collaborative efforts of the USANA Foundation, Malapascua Island leaders, local families and businesses, and USANA distributors, Camille Anne Anne, the project was a great success. Each tower is expected to produce approximately 1,300 additional servings of produce per year, benefiting people’s overall nutrition. More towers are planned to be built on the island in the near future.
“We are so grateful to USANA Foundation for coming all the way to Malapascua to support our local community,” said Camille. “As an avid scuba diver, I have spent a lot of time on the island and have seen firsthand the need for sustainable food sources. The Garden Tower that we planted will go a long way to addressing this issue. USANA and its Foundation have always wanted to help people all over the world, and we are so proud to be associated with such a company.”
