Benjamin Logan Elementary School is pleased to announce the successful implementation of its first annual Mental Health Fair on Friday, May 17, in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Month.
Led by school counselor Heidi Fuller and with the dedicated help of numerous volunteers, including Unified Arts educators, this pioneering event aims to raise awareness of mental health among students. It was. School officials said the mental health fair marks a major step forward in fostering a healthier and happier school community.
“The importance of mental health cannot be overstated,” Fuller stressed. “It has a huge impact on every aspect of our lives.”
The fair featured 10 interactive and educational stations meticulously created to promote student mental health awareness and well-being.
“We are all working together to make sure the first Mental Health Fair is both fun and educational for our students,” said PE teacher Tian Harner. “Each station provides a unique opportunity for students to explore and understand different aspects of mental health.”
General music teacher Tyler Young agrees. “We are very much looking forward to the first BLES Mental Health Fair. This event will help students cope with the mental and emotional challenges they need, especially during the upcoming summer holidays and beyond. It helps equip you with the tools you need,” she said.
The school district would like to express its sincere gratitude to the non-profit organization PASS (Prevention Aviation Support Services) for their invaluable efforts in making the day a great success.
The timing of the fair aligns seamlessly with Mental Health Awareness Month and serves as a reminder to students, parents and staff alike that prioritizing mental health is paramount.
“As the school year draws to a close, Benjamin Logan Elementary School encourages everyone to allocate time for self-care and mental health,” school officials said.
