A beauty professional has shared tips for anti-aging without spending a lot of money.

just a few simple things stepMike Kocsis believes his technique can slow down the aging clock by up to 16 years.

Mike, the self-care expert at Balance My Hormones, encourages people to take care of their hormonal health to quickly reverse the signs of aging.

He also believes it all comes down to employing methods to lower cortisol levels.

Cortisol is a steroid hormone released by the adrenal glands.

Mike said: “Cortisol often gets a bad rap because it is commonly referred to as the body’s stress hormone. However, it plays an important role in regulating blood sugar levels, reduces internal inflammation, and even maintains memory. .

“But too much cortisol can be harmful to the body.”

Adopting strategies to lower cortisol levels is one of the quickest ways to reverse the signs of aging caused by feelings of stress.

Mike continues: “There’s no need for expensive gym sessions or extensive skin care.

“Just going for a walk stimulates the release of the feel-good hormone serotonin.

“In fact, a study in the Journal of Communication Biology found that walking can reduce your biological age by up to 16 years.

“Participating in walking meditation is a great way to further suppress the production of the stress hormone cortisol.

“There are several wallet-friendly apps that offer guided walking meditations.”

According to Mike, practicing cold water therapy can also have anti-aging benefits.

Studies have shown that consuming probiotics daily can significantly reduce cortisol levels.

Cold water therapy involves applying ice or cold to the skin or soaking it in water.

Mike continued: “Cold water therapy has become popular in recent years, with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga claiming to be fans.

“Soaking in cold water has been shown to lower cortisol levels, reduce inflammation, and improve blood circulation.

“Reducing inflammation and cortisol can help reverse elevated cortisol levels, a sign of aging.”

How to save money when buying beauty products

If your wallet is tighter than ever and you’re looking to save money on makeup, have you thought about trying beauty products?

Gut health also plays a big role in hormonal health.

“If you’re striving to lower stress levels and achieve healthy-looking skin, consuming probiotic foods like kefir and kombucha will benefit your gut microbiome. ”

“Studies have shown that daily consumption of probiotics significantly reduces cortisol levels.”

A group of cells in the brain called the hypothalamus initiates the secretion of cortisol by releasing corticotrophin.

This releases adrenocorticotropic hormone, which, when detected by the two adrenal glands located on top of the kidneys, releases cortisol.

Mike said: “This kick initiates the body’s fight-or-flight response. The purpose of this mechanism is to keep us safe and let us know when we are safe or in danger.

“When you experience large amounts of stress, excess cortisol circulates throughout your body, affecting not only your mood but also the function of your skin and other organs.”

Here, Mike Kocsis from Balance My Hormones reveals how your skin signals when your cortisol levels are too high and gives three ways to reduce cortisol production.

Cortisol production and skin conditions

It’s no coincidence that we often notice breakouts when we’re stressed.

Cortisol is an inflammatory hormone, and high levels cause sebaceous glands to produce excess oil. As a result, oil stays on your skin and clogs your pores.

This causes acne to appear all over the skin, especially around the chin and mouth.

Signs of high cortisol levels can also appear as symptoms of psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea.

For people who already suffer from such symptoms, cortisol can increase the severity of the symptoms. However, even people who have never experienced these conditions can see them manifest.

Skin scaffold failure

Cortisol can accelerate signs of aging. Collagen is a protein composed of amino acids.

This is essentially a scaffold for the skin to support the skin tissue.

Cortisol is a catabolic hormone that breaks down proteins, including collagen, and disrupts the collagen matrix that makes up 75 percent of your skin.

As a result, when cortisol breaks down collagen, your face can lose structure and begin to sag.

Increased cortisol and dehydration

The skin produces several types of oils that provide a layer of protection from environmental stress.

Cortisol interferes with the production of these oils, making it increasingly difficult for the skin to retain moisture.

A lack of lipids (compounds that form bonds in the body) causes your skin to lose water.

This is often referred to as TEWL (transepidermal water loss).

TEWL can cause skin dehydration, causing the skin to become dry and sensitive to contact.

How to lower cortisol (backed by science)

Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system, increases heart rate, and increases blood pressure.

This can increase feelings of stress and increase cortisol production.

Of course, reducing your caffeine intake will also improve your sleep hygiene, which will result in a more balanced mood.

If you’re looking for ways to lower your cortisol levels, reducing your caffeine intake should be your first goal.

Finding ways to boost production of the feel-good hormone serotonin is a great way to suppress the stress hormone cortisol.

Things like meditation, exercise, and exposure to sunlight have been shown to increase serotonin production.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet can lower cortisol levels.

Avoid processed foods and choose leafy green vegetables, oily fish, and colorful fruits.
