EL CENTRO, Calif. (Saturday, May 18, 2024) – More than 100 people participated in a walk at El Centro Bucklin Park Thursday morning to raise awareness for mental health. The event was sponsored by the Imperial County Behavioral Health Department.

“We’re very excited about this,” said Patricia Arevalo-Caro, behavioral health manager for Imperial County. need. Local senior Donald Scoville said: “Many people are embarrassed to admit that they may have a mental problem, but it shouldn’t be that way. It’s no different. There’s no shame in going to the doctor with a broken leg. And sometimes your mental health deteriorates and you don’t even realize you need help. If you’re with friends sometimes and you can’t seem to understand what they’re saying to you, or if you feel like there’s some kind of disconnect between them, seek mental health just in case. Nuñez said that factors that affect the mental health of older people include age-related declines in physical health, feelings of loneliness, economic circumstances, family relationships, and that some people sometimes feel abandoned by their families. Stated.
