Cookie Contest – Thursday, July 11th
All entries require a complete recipe
Arrange the cookies on a plate and place them in a plastic bag.
Class 1 – bar cookies
Class 2 – Chocolate chips
Class 3 – Delete cookies
Class 4 – Cut out cookies, ice them and decorate them.
Class 5 No Bake – All types

rhubarb bread
1 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
2/3c.oil
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon soda
2c. Finely chopped fresh rhubarb
1/2c.crushed fruit
Mix sugar and oil, then mix in eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk. Combine flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda. Stir in the rhubarb and nuts in addition to the wet ingredients.
Place in two greased 8-by-4-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.
spinach rice salad
1c. rice
Italian salad dressing 1/2c.
Soy sauce 1T..
1 teaspoon sugar
2c. Fresh spinach, shredded
1/2c.celery slices
1/2c.green onion slices
1/3c.cooked and crumbled bacon
Cook the rice according to package instructions. Transfer to a large bowl and let cool slightly. Combine dressing, soy sauce, and sugar. Mix with hot rice. Cover and cool. Mix leftovers with chilled rice before serving.
