India continues to attract people from all over the world, with many Europeans seeking healing through Ayurveda, yoga and meditation. A group from Poland recently participated in a nearly four-week ‘Pranvidya’ meditation retreat in Uttarakhand under the guidance of Dr. Filip Luczynski, founder of the Vivaswan Foundation in Poland. The retreat focused on yoga Sanskrit texts such as the Prashna Upanishads and Yoga Vasistha, which provided participants with insights to overcome life’s challenges and channel positive energy.
Dr. Philip Rusinski emphasized India’s role as the birthplace of ancient wisdom, where sages wrote sacred texts that revealed the science of inner prosperity through yoga and Ayurveda. He described the workshop as a great opportunity for participants to learn about the practical applications of yoga, Ayurveda and meditation in daily life and explore the secrets of inner science. He praised India’s contribution to the world through its ancient knowledge heritage.
At the certificate ceremony, linguist and Sanskrit scholar Dr. Sunil Joshi highlighted the Ruchinsky family’s dedication to preserving the Sanskrit language and translating Indian epics such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Their efforts have deepened Poland’s understanding of Indian scriptures over the past 70 years. Dr. Joshi pointed out that universities such as Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University and Adam Mickiewicz University offer Sanskrit language courses, which attract a large number of learners. He also pointed to the influence of Sanskrit on Polish, with words for family often reflecting Sanskrit origins.
