Shinzen Friendship Garden, located in Fresno’s Woodward Park, is collaborating with the Class of 2024 in the Department of Osteopathic Medicine at California Health Sciences University to create Strides for Wellness, an event focused on health education and activities. Preparations are underway for the event.
Open to all ages, Strides for Wellness offers participants a variety of activities aimed at promoting overall health.
These activities include guided yoga and meditation sessions, mindful walking, arts and crafts, and more. Medical students will also conduct educational seminars covering topics such as managing diabetes and high blood pressure, how to deal with depression and burnout, and tips for maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Shinzen Friendship Garden,” said Casey Ramonski, executive director of Shinzen Friendship Garden. “We are excited to partner with local CHSU School of Medicine students to host this event. It is a great opportunity for the community to provide free resources to improve their health and wellness. This is important. A very quiet and relaxing garden is the perfect setting for this purpose.”
