When it comes to beauty, we love the term “natural.” And in our opinion, nothing beats natural ingredients that have the ayurvedic seal of approval. Ayurvedic remedies are highly effective in treating hair loss and promoting hair growth. Luckily, we’ve done extensive research to discover a literal gem that transforms the health of your hair and has many hair care benefits. If you’re looking for tips to manage your hair loss and inch closer to your goal of thicker, fuller hair, keep reading.

brinraj

Bhringraj is a miracle herb belonging to the sunflower family and literally translates to “king of herbs”. Bhringraj is a good source of iron, magnesium, vitamins D and E and is a clear winner in the fight against irregular hair loss. Rich in healthy nutrients, Bhringraj not only promotes hair growth but also reverses baldness and slows down premature graying of hair tresses.

How to use it:

step 1: Take a handful of Bhringraj leaves or 6-7 tablespoons of Bhringraj dry powder.

Step 2: To make brinraj paste, mix the dry powder with a little water and apply it on your scalp. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and then wash it off with shampoo.

Step 3: To make bhringraj oil, extract the juice from brinraj leaves and mix it with cold-pressed coconut oil and soaked fenugreek seeds. Heat the mixture, strain and store in a glass jar. Massage it into your scalp and leave it on overnight. Wash it off the next day.

Leesa

A powerful Ayurvedic hair treatment to improve hair texture and volume using Reeta is a traditional hair care ritual that promotes hair growth. Leesa, or soap nuts, contain saponins and are commonly used as a home remedy to cleanse the scalp without drying it.

How to use it:

step 1: Take some reetha and soak it in about 2 cups of water overnight.

Step 2: Boil the leesa in the same water for 10-15 minutes and let it cool. Strain and store in a glass bottle.

Step 3 : Apply to hair like regular shampoo and massage into lather. Rinse with cold water.

Amla

Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry, is a powerful ingredient in Ayurveda. Amla is used to boost immunity and purify the blood. When applied topically, it promotes hair growth and prevents hair loss. Amla is rich in vitamin C, tannins and calcium, which conditions the hair and protects it from photo-damage, while synthesizing collagen for hair regeneration.

How to use it:

step 1: Mix 5-6 tablespoons of amla powder and 5 tablespoons of water in a bowl.

Step 2: Make a smooth, fine paste and apply it to your scalp and hair.

Step 3: Leave it on for 30 minutes, then rinse with a mild shampoo.

Brahmi

If you are looking for Ayurvedic hair loss treatment, try Brahmi. Brahmi is known to balance pitta dosha, which causes hair loss, and contains antioxidants that promote thick hair growth. It is also effective for scalp problems such as itching, inflammation, and dandruff.

How to use it:

step 1: Mix 2 tablespoons of brahmi powder, 2 tablespoons of amla powder and 2 tablespoons of ashwagandha powder with 5 tablespoons of yogurt.

Step 2: Separate your hair and apply this mixture to your scalp and hair.

Step 3: Leave it on for an hour, then wash it off with a gentle shampoo and water.

Shikakai

Shikakai is rich in vitamins C, E, A, and K, which have hair growth effects. When applied to the hair, Shikakai acts as an excellent Ayurvedic hair therapy, unclogging hair follicles and promoting collagen turnover. This promotes hair growth and ultimately produces thicker, fuller hair.

How to use it:

step 1: Soak Shikakai, Reetha and Amla pods overnight.

Step 2: In the morning, boil, mash, strain into a glass jug and let cool.

Step 3: Use as a hair rinse or natural shampoo to thicken hair naturally.
