brinraj
Bhringraj is a miracle herb belonging to the sunflower family and literally translates to “king of herbs”. Bhringraj is a good source of iron, magnesium, vitamins D and E and is a clear winner in the fight against irregular hair loss. Rich in healthy nutrients, Bhringraj not only promotes hair growth but also reverses baldness and slows down premature graying of hair tresses.
How to use it:
step 1: Take a handful of Bhringraj leaves or 6-7 tablespoons of Bhringraj dry powder.
Step 2: To make brinraj paste, mix the dry powder with a little water and apply it on your scalp. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and then wash it off with shampoo.
Step 3: To make bhringraj oil, extract the juice from brinraj leaves and mix it with cold-pressed coconut oil and soaked fenugreek seeds. Heat the mixture, strain and store in a glass jar. Massage it into your scalp and leave it on overnight. Wash it off the next day.
Leesa
A powerful Ayurvedic hair treatment to improve hair texture and volume using Reeta is a traditional hair care ritual that promotes hair growth. Leesa, or soap nuts, contain saponins and are commonly used as a home remedy to cleanse the scalp without drying it.
How to use it:
step 1: Take some reetha and soak it in about 2 cups of water overnight.
Step 2: Boil the leesa in the same water for 10-15 minutes and let it cool. Strain and store in a glass bottle.
Step 3 : Apply to hair like regular shampoo and massage into lather. Rinse with cold water.
Amla
Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry, is a powerful ingredient in Ayurveda. Amla is used to boost immunity and purify the blood. When applied topically, it promotes hair growth and prevents hair loss. Amla is rich in vitamin C, tannins and calcium, which conditions the hair and protects it from photo-damage, while synthesizing collagen for hair regeneration.
How to use it:
step 1: Mix 5-6 tablespoons of amla powder and 5 tablespoons of water in a bowl.
Step 2: Make a smooth, fine paste and apply it to your scalp and hair.
Step 3: Leave it on for 30 minutes, then rinse with a mild shampoo.
