“For a long time, I had a deep desire to see God do something significant,” says the author of her new book, “Overcomers: God’s Vision for Thriving in Times of Anxiety and Anger.” Author Chandler told CBN News.
A Texas preacher said last year’s Asbury eruption, mass baptisms and other events showed growing spiritual fervor in various parts of the country.
And Chandler believes these events serve as an inspiration to his followers.
“For those outside of the smaller groups who have really fought for this and asked God to do this, it’s gone back to what is possible… “Maybe it’s at the center of our imagination,” Chandler said.
These moments come at an interesting time, as culture and society, especially morally and ethically, appear to be in tatters. Culture is always moving toward the end, but some wonder if, Biblically speaking, the negative events that are occurring are an indication that we are closer than ever. Masu.
However, recent baptisms and rising spiritual temperatures may throw some popular beliefs up into the air.For example, some may think that a revival or spiritual outpouring will not occur as the end approaches, but Chandler believes that both can unfold at the same time.
“I think they will absolutely happen at the same time. Things will get better and worse at the same time,” Chandler said. “The Bible not only depicts things getting worse and worse and worse until the Lord comes, it depicts both happening.”
He believes Jesus was referring to this very thing in Matthew 13:24-30 when he spoke of the wheat and tares growing together until “the harvest comes.”
“The wheat and the tares… grow together until the harvest comes,” Chandler said.
He also cited other end-times scriptures and argued that some people may be reading the Bible incorrectly, assuming that everything will just be horrible in the end.
“The Bible says people will marry and be married, just like in Noah’s day,” he says. “These are normal times. There are scary things. There are beautiful things. We’re about to get married. When you carry on as usual, it always comes to an end.”
