ELKINS — May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Davis Health System is excited to shine a spotlight on the vital importance of mental health and the valuable role behavioral health providers play in supporting individuals and communities. I’m proud of that.

Throughout the month of May, Davis Health System behavioral health providers are committed to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and advocating for access to quality mental health care.

Davis Health offers a wide range of services, from psychiatrists and psychologists to social workers and counselors, to meet the diverse needs of patients and families.

Senior Life Solutions is an outpatient behavioral health program offered at Broaddus Hospital in Philippi and Webster Memorial Hospital in Webster Springs. The unique needs of adults (usually those over the age of 65) are addressed in a supportive and encouraging group therapy environment. Treatment is tailored to age-related mental health challenges, including symptoms of depression and anxiety. Laurel Place at Davis Medical Center in Elkins is a short-term care facility designed to treat and improve the lives of people age 55 and older suffering from depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, social withdrawal, interpersonal conflicts, and a variety of other conditions. This is an inpatient therapy program. Other mental illnesses. Our care team includes experienced, board-certified psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and treatment support staff.

Dr. Lauren DeMarco is a board-certified psychiatrist and Medical Director of Laurel Place and Senior Life Solutions Program. Dr. DeMarco specializes in psychiatric evaluation and initiating and monitoring psychopharmacological treatment and is trained to treat individuals across the lifespan.

Jennifer Abel, PMHNP, Brenda Mason, APRN, DNP, FNP-BC, Teresa Black, DNP, APRN-BC, FNP, and Melissa Bragg, PMHNP, DHS in both inpatient and outpatient care settings.
