PHOENIX – Joey Maggiore, the chef behind one of the Valley’s most popular brunch spots, shares his gorgeous recipes in a new cookbook.
Pre-orders are now open on Amazon for Maggiore’s “Brunch King: Eat, Beat, Drink” which will be released on September 17th.
Maggiore’s first cookbook features more than 70 food and drink recipes and reflects the glamorous menu and atmosphere of his Hash Kitchen restaurants.
The book’s plethora of recipes include Bananas Foster Pancakes, Cannoli Donuts, Millionaire’s Bacon, Birria Bao Benedict, and Make Your Own Bloody Mary.
Why did Joe Maggiore write a cookbook?
“I’ve always dreamed of writing a cookbook to tell the story of my life as a restaurateur. And now I get to share with you all the crazy brunches I’ve added.” Maggiore writes in the book’s introduction, which is part of a sample listing on Amazon.
Mr. Maggiore is the Executive Chef of the Maggiore Group. His late father, Tommaso Maggiore, opened Tommaso’s Italian Restaurant in 1977 and went on to open dozens of restaurants in Arizona and California, putting the family’s name on the Phoenix culinary map.
Tomaso’s closed last year after 46 years, but the family-owned restaurant group is thriving with brands such as Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher, The Sicilian Baker, The Mexicano and The Rosticceria. It is managed by
Hash Kitchen concept expands beyond Arizona
Hash Kitchen debuted in Scottsdale in 2015. His bougie brunch concept currently has seven locations in the Valley and is expanding outside of Arizona with investment from Mercato Partners’ Savory Restaurant Fund.
Last year, the company opened its first out-of-state store in Draper, Utah. Six more hash kitchens are scheduled to open in Texas, Utah, and Nevada in 2024 and 2025.
