Powerful Pilates is coming to America.
what’s happening: The Australian-based high-intensity Pilates concept has opened a headquarters in Hermosa Beach, Calif., to support its expansion, and plans to open six to eight studios in the U.S. this year.
what is that: STRONG Pilates classes feature patented ROWFORMER and BIKEFORMER machines, which combine reformer and cardio equipment to provide a low-impact, full-body workout.
Remarkably, a 45-minute session is said to burn 800 calories, almost twice as many as a standard reformer workout.
Up the ante. Founded in Melbourne in 2019 by two F45 Training franchisees, its hybrid workouts are a unique approach in the fast-growing Pilates market.
With 56 studios across Australia/New Zealand, UK/IRE, and APAC regions, and another 150 in the works, expansion in the US will make it more popular.
Co-founder Michael Ramsey plans to expand into new markets and stay innovative.
