Who doesn’t like eating ice cream in the scorching summer heat? Imagine the taste of the king of fruits, mango, in a delicious bowl of ice cream. But eating store-bought ice cream on a regular basis isn’t such a healthy option, right? Well, here’s the perfect solution – the best mango ice cream shared by professional chefs.

To share with you their tried-and-true ice cream recipes, Slurrp conducted an exclusive interview with Chef Surabhi Sehgal and Chef Ramachandra Ganeshan. If you want to make smooth mango ice cream at home, read and get your favorite recipes shared by chefs. As a bonus, this article also includes some interesting ways to use leftover ice cream.

Ramachandra Ganeshan is the Sous Chef at ITC Maurya. With his 24 years of experience in pastry and bakery, you can rely on his mango recipes to make mangoes at home.

The chef says: “There are a lot of misconceptions about making ice cream and frozen desserts at home in general. First of all, know that frozen desserts and ice cream are two different types of desserts. Of course, Both can be made perfectly at home. Another misconception I’d like to dispel is that homemade ice cream is just as delicious as store-bought, just by customizing the ingredients to your taste. You can make the creamiest ice cream ever.

Recipe: Frozen Yogurt with Mango

  1. 4 cups yogurt
  2. 2 cups whipped cream
  3. 1/2 cup milk
  4. 2 teaspoons sweetened condensed milk
  5. 1 cup mango pulp

Instructions:

  1. In a blender, combine yogurt, whipped cream, milk, condensed milk, and mango pulp.
  2. Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, like a thick smoothie.
  3. Use a freezer-safe container with a tight-fitting lid. Pour the blended yogurt into the container and smooth the surface.
  4. Cover the surface of the yogurt mixture with parchment paper to prevent ice crystals from forming.
  5. Cover the container tightly and place in the freezer to freeze for at least 6 hours or until the mixture is solid.
  6. When you’re ready to eat, remove the container from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly.
  7. Scoop the frozen yogurt into a bowl or cone and serve with fresh mango slices.

Surabhi Sehgal

Surabhi Sehgal is a culinary artist known for creating beautiful dishes that look like works of art. she says: “One of the common misconceptions is that you need fancy equipment to make ice cream at home. An ice cream maker makes the process easier, but it’s not required. A hand mixer or a whisk You can make delicious ice cream using simple tools such as a refrigerator and a freezer.

Surabhi Sehgal further says: “Another misconception is that homemade ice cream is difficult to make. With the right recipe and a little patience, anyone can make a delicious batch at home in no time. Plus, homemade ice cream Although some people consider it unhealthy, you can control the ingredients, such as using natural sweeteners or fruit instead of sugar, or Greek yogurt or coconut milk instead of heavy cream. .”

Recipe: Mango Yogurt Mint Ice Cream

  1. 2 ripe mangoes (peeled and diced)
  2. 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  3. 2 tablespoons honey (adjust to taste)
  4. 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves, chopped
  5. 1 teaspoon lime juice
  6. pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Add the diced mango to the blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine blended mango, Greek yogurt, honey, lime juice, salt, and chopped mint leaves. Mix well until all ingredients are completely mixed.
  3. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness by adding more honey as needed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to the bowl of an ice cream machine and stir until creamy. If you don’t have an ice cream machine, freeze it for a few hours and mix it by hand or with a regular mixer.
  5. Once stirred, transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze until ready to eat.
  6. When ready to serve, scoop Mango Yogurt Ice Cream into a bowl or cone and enjoy the refreshing flavor of tart yogurt with ripe mango and hints of mint.

Creative ways to use leftover ice cream by Surabhi Sehgal

2. Ice cream milkshake: Mix the leftover ice cream with milk to make a creamy milkshake. You can also add seasonal fruits, chocolate, and nuts to enhance the flavor.

3. ice cream float: Mix leftover ice cream with soda or root beer for a refreshing float.

Four. Ice cream truffle: You can create easy-to-eat ice cream truffles by filling crushed cookies or nuts with ice cream, rolling them, and freezing them until solid.

Five. Ice cream pancake/waffle: Add melted ice cream to pancake or waffle batter instead of milk for a flavorful breakfast.

6. Ice cream affogato: Pour hot espresso or coffee over ice cream to create a simple and elegant dessert.
