Most people don’t think much about this word because we live in such a busy and active world. meditation.

Due to the stresses and strains of modern life, if not the prevalence of anxiety itself, people are increasingly turning to Eastern religions to learn about various forms of meditation such as disciplined silence, stillness, and physical relaxation. I’m learning techniques. But isn’t it a waste of precious time to sit and think? No, not at all.

By being introspective and listening to your own thoughts, you will be able to put aside the thoughts that make the most sense and give them the time they deserve. Unfortunately, for many people, having a quiet place to reflect and think deeply has become a thing of the past. It’s a shame.

If you want to meditate in an effective way, you can’t meditate in 5 minutes. It takes time and commitment to make it work.

Think only of God’s thoughts. There are dangers in wandering through desolate or barren deserts thinking about fantasies or worse. Instead of meditating on yourself, meditate on God. Seek God in your inner thought life.

There is always danger in pondering a problem. Get into the habit of meditating on God’s Word and find answers to your problems there. you say, I’m completely new to meditation. How do I get started? Be kind to yourself first. Please select a subject. Choose from Bible verses. Then fix the time you specify (for example, he takes 5 minutes at a time). Start and think out loud. It may seem strange at first, but good luck.

If possible, have a consistent time, location, and plan. Then read slowly and carefully. Read it over and over again. Read it aloud. This is implied in the Hebrew word for “meditation” in Psalm 1:2. Please read it prayerfully. Pick up a pen and read. Memorize the passages you read. Read the book with others and discuss what you see. Study books of the Bible that have good commentaries. Pray about your Bible meditation plans for this year and discuss your plans with a Christian friend.

But they rejoice in the law of the Lord, and meditate on it day and night. (Psalm 1:2 – New Translation of the Bible)

In Radio’s words, spending time with God in meditation is “turning the dial until you tune into God’s wavelength, and then you receive the message” (Selwyn Hughes). I like that quote. Christian meditation is learning how to trust God who is in all things and in all things. It’s about everyday life. The simple tasks we perform can be acts of worship to the God who loves us.

My favorite author is the late Selwyn Hughes. If you read his articles and books, you won’t be disappointed. However, at one point he quoted Pascal, a famous French Christian philosopher, and said, “Almost all of life’s illnesses stem from the simple inability to sit still in a room.” Ta.

Sitting down for 20 minutes each day to meditate on God’s Word will stimulate and energize your thinking. May that happen to you too.
