MTR organized the famous food festival ‘MTR Karnadu Swadha’ which aimed to give participants a taste of often forgotten recipes from across Karnataka. The festival was inaugurated by his N Santosh Hegde, former Attorney General of India.
Under the leadership of MTR’s Culinary Center of Excellence, more than 50 home chefs are working in six locations across Karnataka including Uttara Karnataka, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Kalyana Karnataka, Udupi and Hale Misuru. It showcased over 100 dishes from the region and took attendees on a sensory journey. The state’s culinary heritage. MTR Karnadu Swadha is a one-stop celebration of kitchens from across Karnataka, using locally sourced ingredients, unique spice blends and recipes passed down through generations.
A coffee table book was also released during the two-day festival.

It celebrates the diverse flavors of Karnataka and our commitment to preserving the state’s rich culinary traditions. With evolving consumer needs and fast-paced lifestyles, we have inadvertently lost touch with the traditional recipes and flavors that once defined our culture. The festival serves as a bridge back to our roots and is a heartfelt effort to preserve Karnadu’s heritage through these precious delicacies.”
