The co-founders said the summit is part of a “movement to reimagine Black wellness.”
Building Exponential Wellness (BE Well) will host its third annual Wellness Summit for People of Color on Saturday, May 18th at BRIC Arts Media in downtown Brooklyn.
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the event will showcase the expertise of Black health and wellness leaders and highlight the importance of Black wellness, according to a news release.
The summit will feature over 30 BIPOC wellness experts including Dr. Roger Ball, Alicia Holmes, Maya Winston, Lisa Robinson, King’s Church of Christ, Melissa Phillippe, Darnell Taylor, and more. Masu.
“The BE Well Experience is more than just an event, it’s a movement to reimagine Black wellness,” say BE Well co-founders Danielle Nicole and Nadine G.. “Our goal is to carve out a space that responds to the clear needs of our community and fosters significant health advances.”
The event includes more than 20 events designed to celebrate and prioritize Black health across eight key categories: physical, mental, financial, professional, community, relationship, nutritional, and spiritual. Includes engaging wellness activations.
Attendees can immerse themselves in a variety of activities, including yoga sessions, sound baths, journaling workshops, acupuncture sessions, financial literacy seminars, live wellness podcast discussions, community art, and conversations with mental health experts.
Additionally, the event will provide a platform for local Black-owned wellness vendors to offer select wellness products, services, and resources.
The afterparty will be held from 8pm to 2am in the 333 Lounge and is free to all summit attendees. DJ sets by DJ Yung Blu and DJ Debonair One feature his new-school hip-hop mix of reggae, soca, Afrobeats, and R&B.
