
In a demonstration of unity and support for the Lahaina community, the Hawaii Catholic Community Foundation and Maria Lanakila Church will hold a spiritual event on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ali’i Ballroom at the Royal Lahaina Resort. & Wellness Health Fair was announced.
“As the Lahaina community continues to move forward, our parish and the Sacred Hearts School community are demonstrating how people of faith can support one another in the face of great adversity,” Maria Lanakila Church said Father Kuriakose Naduparambil.
The event coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month in May and aims to provide support to survivors of the Lahaina wildfires. Highlights include spiritual support from Maui’s Catholic Diocese priests, who are available for individual, family, and group prayer sessions. Health professionals provide tools and resources for physical and emotional healing.
Exhibitors include Service Dogs of Hawaii, Catholic Charities Hawaii, Hospice Maui, Maria Lanakila Church, Maui Family Support Services, Mindful Living Group, National Maui Alliance on Mental Illness, and St. Anthony of Padua Church and so on.
Participants will also discover strategies for resilience and empowerment tailored to support individuals and families on their journey towards recovery and regeneration. The keiki corner offers fun activities and prizes. This event will feature a door prize, a $1,000 Costco His Gift Card, and a grand prize of a $1,000 Costco His Gift Card for the first 500 households. The event will also include island-style entertainment.
Due to limited parking at Royal Lahaina Resort, complimentary parking and round-trip shuttle service is available at 2530 Kekaa Drive from 8:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
