Temperatures are rising across much of the United States and we’re all thinking about summer. Usually in wellness culture we talk about summer bodies, but you won’t hear that from me. I would like to talk here about nutrition tips that will nourish you in the summer and give you energy so that you can enjoy all the pleasures of warm weather.

Check your sleeping habits

Longer daylight hours make us wake up earlier and go to bed later. We may be doing more things during the day, but a lack of sleep habits is not doing us any good. Sleep is a biological need that helps us regulate during the day and restore and repair during the night. Sleep, especially sleep deprivation, link to Increased stress, heart disease, and blood pressure. Finding and maintaining sleep habits will benefit your body tenfold. With enough rest, you can commit to more activities and nutritional habits that will make this summer your best yet.

Hydrate, Hydrate, and More Hydrate

adequate hydration It is required for many processes in the body, including digestion, absorption, and nutrient transport. Most of the body’s systems depend on hydration to function properly and survive. We get about 20% of our daily hydration from food, most of which comes from water-rich produce. To find out an individual’s water intake, multiply their weight in pounds by 0.5 to get the amount of ounces they should consume each day. Add fruits like lemons, limes, and oranges to water to create drinks with a twist.

Think about what plants you can add to your eating pattern

plant It is rich in nutrients and has antioxidant properties. Antioxidants have the potential to reduce oxidative stress in the body. Oxidative stress can occur as a result of free radical damage. Current research data shows that dietary patterns that limit added sugar, salt, synthetic and saturated fats, and are rich in a variety of whole, minimally processed plants reduce the risk of developing chronic disease. Suggests it’s helpful. Choose options that are accessible, affordable, and culturally relevant. Don’t shy away from frozen vegetables and fruits either. It’s an affordable way to add plants in a pinch.

Increase dietary fiber intake

Dietary fiber is found in fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, and seeds. Fiber contains many components that pass through parts of the gastrointestinal tract undigested. This mechanism It’s beneficial to your body, affecting everything from blood pressure to brain health. Having a fiber-forward pattern in your daily diet supports heart health, blood sugar levels, healthy cholesterol levels, brain health, digestive health, and more. The American Heart Association recommends getting 25 to 30 grams of fiber from food each day. Other options include rice and beans, roasted root vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, and onions, or stir-fried vegetables. All provide fiber and flavor.

Avoid alcohol

What is summer without ice? For summer with fewer hangovers. In fact, alcohol is a toxin and one of the most socially tolerated drugs. We all know that drinking alcohol regularly does not have a positive effect on our health, but we still participate in it. Consider creating a summer drinking plan that includes more days without alcohol compared to days with alcohol. Regular and consistent heavy alcohol consumption (four or more drinks at a time) is associated with high blood pressure and poor cardiovascular health. Non-alcoholic and zero-proof elixirs are flavorful alcohol alternatives. Adding them to your routine will help you get used to your new routine.
