Jennifer Aniston knows the importance of staying healthy in all aspects of life.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE related to her partnership with Pvolve, the 55-year-old actress opens up about her approach to self-care, exercise, and nutrition.

When asked what her daily diet is like, Aniston said, “My nutrition is pretty much the same. I usually eat lots of high protein, vegetables, salads, soups, and whatever I want to eat on the weekends.” I always give.” I personally have a cheat day. ”

Highlighting her go-to cheat meal, the morning show The star revealed, “Well, it depends. At the risk of repeating myself, Mexican food is my favorite food. To be honest, it’s not that cheating.”

“Or cheeseburgers, pizza, pasta, all of that,” Aniston continues.

Aniston knows that just like eating right, taking care of your mental health is important to your overall health.

One way to practice self-care, she says, is to limit your screen time and monitor the type of content you watch.

”[It’s important to] Turn off the screen. …put down your phone and go outside. Surround yourself with friends and connect with people,” says Aniston.

“Think…what is possible as opposed to the doom that the world tends to look like these days,” she added. “We’re not designed to accept that kind of information all day long.”

According to Aniston, she’s “totally” a morning person when it comes to exercise.

“I always feel like the last thing I want to do after a long day is exercise,” she explains. “I really admire people who can come home from a day’s work, put on their workout clothes and go to the gym at night. I think that’s great, but I just can’t see myself doing that. .”

Aniston says that on days when she has a hard time going to the gym, she actively works to quiet the negative thoughts in her head.

“I say, ‘Just go. Just do it for five minutes. Move for at least five minutes,'” the actress says. She said, “If the first girlfriend of something can get through 10 minutes, then maybe the next girlfriend can do 10 minutes, and then she knows she can do 10 minutes, and then she just keeps going.”

Later this year, Aniston will celebrate the one-year anniversary of her partnership with Pvolve. Pvolve is an exercise program that combines functional movement and resistance-based equipment to train, strengthen, and recover your body through on-demand, streaming, and in-person classes.

The company will also launch the Jen’s Spring Challenge, which runs from May 13th to June 9th and encourages members to take 12 classes during the period.

These classes are available to Pvolve’s streaming members on mobile, web, and the Apple TV app, as well as to studio members at the company’s 12 North American locations, and are coupled with a new limited-edition equipment bundle consisting of: . Includes some of Aniston’s workout favorites, including P. Ball, P. Band, P.3 Trainer, Slant Board, Heavy Ankle Band, and Glider, plus a 3-month streaming membership and his Pvolve tote. Masu.

Members who sign up for Aniston’s challenge and complete it within 30 days will automatically receive a trip to Los Angeles for a private training session with Coleman.

“It’s very accessible and not intimidating to people,” Aniston tells PEOPLE about Pvolve’s workouts. “This is a workout I’ve never really tried before, but it’s very doable.”
