Hi guys! I love this weather, cool nights and warm days. There was rain, storm, and sunshine. Wednesday night after church we got caught in a storm. Sirens were wailing in Mansfield. It was very dark outside and I was afraid of the sirens blaring, which made me anxious. I said to Ethan, “Let’s get the car out of the carport and go to the shelter.” Of course, Ethan and Even didn’t want to go. Unfortunately, this nana had no intention of letting them stay at her house. There was another small problem with going to the shelter. He weighs 4 pounds and I call him Junior. He doesn’t allow dogs in shelters. So yeah, that being said, I got a big bag and blanket, stuffed my 4 pound Chihuahua inside the bag and off we went. There weren’t quite a lot of people there. Good visit and some laughs. When I try to hide his JR, people look at him and say, “Oh, meet him. I’ve only seen him on Facebook.” What should I do? Since he is famous, he needed people to look at him and pet him. My friend Joy and I decided that the next time we went, we would bring a little ice chest of Diet Coke, a Little Debbie cake, aka Little Debbie, and she would bring playing cards. If you end up stuck in a shelter, you might want to grab a snack or play a game.

Those are my adventures this week, but here’s an interesting story that has nothing to do with Arashi. Oh, I forgot to bring a garbage bag to cover my body with when I went to the evacuation center.

Anyway, we laughed about that nephew again. He is in charge of AWANAS at the church. Wednesday nights are for kids. There, a little newborn boy was talking to my nephew’s wife, and he described my nephew as a “bald guy.” We all laughed about it.

I had to tell my story. I’ve been called funny, a good cook, a crazy woman (by my friend Curtis), crazy, stubborn (by my husband), mean, chubby, talk too much, and too loud. These are just a few, but one day a man came to the bank and was trying to describe me. These were his exact words. “A woman with curly hair.” I’m not lying. I mean, my set is heavy and my hair is frizzy sometimes. I guess he called it that because he saw it. If you look up “heavy set” in Webster’s Dictionary, it means stocky or stout physique. That’s hilarious. Life is interesting and sometimes extra crazy things seem to happen, which makes me so happy.

This week’s recipe is one of my grandson’s favorite foods: cinnamon rolls. they love them. I usually make it for them on Sunday mornings. It’s much easier than making homemade dough. This is a crescent roll cinnamon roll. In my opinion, one tube of crescent rolls is not enough, so double the recipe.

cinnamon roll
1 tube of crescent roll dough
1/4 cup softened salted butter
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Cream Cheese Glaze – 1 cup softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons softened salted butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 cup powdered sugar.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll out the crescent-shaped roll and spread it evenly with butter. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the dough. Rub the mixture into the butter. You can use your hands or the back of a spoon. Roll up the rough tightly and carefully. Cut into 1cm pieces and place in a greased baking dish. You can brush a little more butter on top. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through. While baking, make the cream cheese topping. Combine cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Remove the cinnamon rolls from the oven and spread the icing on top. You can also add more icing or add nuts or raisins according to your preference. The more the better.
