Are religion and spirituality the same?Ira Trivedi Mantena’s answer

For her, spirituality means being aware of the Spirit that we all carry within us and that exists outside of us as well. She says religion and spirituality are often confused and are rarely the same thing. Religion is a tool for reaching and understanding spirituality, but not all spirituality is necessarily religious. In other words, for her, spirituality is about expanding one’s own consciousness by becoming more conscious.

Talking about karma, she explains that it is very simple. Karma is the result of your actions, and these actions may be thoughts, feelings, or actual physical or verbal actions.

Watch Ira Trivedi Mantena’s exclusive interview with ETimes here:

Ira said: “We all go searching. We’re always searching. We search through travel, now we search through apps, we search, right? All of us. Sometimes in life we search. You seek adventure, you seek excitement, but I’ve found that the most excitement and the most joy you get is actually the journey outward. This is coming from someone who has traveled to about 100 countries, worked all over the world, and done all kinds of crazy things.

Expanding

What she has learned on her journey is that inner experience is very beautiful. And when we spend just a little time with ourselves and just sit quietly, it starts from there. People start to understand that their company is very good. And often they don’t even realize that they are constantly being pulled in different directions through WhatsApp, social media, and the people around them. So remember that it is very important to be with yourself and that sometimes it is the greatest joy.

Regarding social media, Ira says: “The world is pulling us outside at every point in our lives. And with the advent of social media and everything going to E, now the world is suddenly using phones. The whole phone is me. So understanding now that consciousness isn’t on your phone, it’s inside you and it extends to everything outside of you, especially with technology. With the advent of , it’s very, very important that everyone focus on consciousness and what it means to be conscious and what it means to be spiritually alive. is important.”

Regarding the book’s influence, she says: “Yes, books have played a very big role in my life. Whenever I am looking for an answer to something, I really feel that in my case the answer lies in books, not in people. So I have some very favorite authors, including my guru, Swami Sivananda, whose books are amazing. , his books are great. So for anyone who wants to start their yoga journey, these books definitely promise to be helpful. Be it Swami Sivananda, Swami Niranjan Saraswati, etc. I also feel that there are a lot of modern people who explain spirituality in such beautiful ways, whether it’s Paulo Coelho or Robin Sharma, all these people really take our Vedic science. , I think it puts it into a modern and easy-to-understand format.”
