John Lennon Luminate App
Just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month, John Lennon The estate has developed a new collaboration lumena “mind-altering” mobile app, for an immersive new project centered around John Lennon’s solo classic “Mind Games.”
Announced on Wednesday, nine new “meditation mixes” of John Lennon’s 1973’s “Mind Games” are part of the experience, but this is apparently by design; I can think of it.
From the news release:
The newly transformed mix is designed (combined with light frequencies from the Luminate app) to put the listener into a relaxed meditative state and bring the mind to a deeper state of consciousness.
The original 1973 2-inch multitrack recording was applied a variety of sound design techniques and processes, and in some cases enhanced with additional instrumentation by producer Sean Ono Lennon, son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono Lennon. It has been.
We’ve partnered with Sean Ono Lennon and the John Lennon Estate to exclusively bring you a reimagined nine meditation mix of John Lennon’s classic 1973 peace and love anthem “Mind Games.” I’m excited to be releasing it. For more information on how this works with the Lumenate app, see Available on mobile phones only:
The Lumenate app shines a flashlight on the back of a smartphone into a person’s closed eyes at a research-based frequency to neurologically induce a state of consciousness somewhere between deep meditation and psychedelics.
Each of the nine meditation mixes is combined with a unique, deeply immersive light sequence with carefully selected flicker frequencies to accompany mind- and mood-altering sounds. These singular, mind-altering sequences enhance the musical journey, deepen the sense of relaxation, and allow users to see, hear, and feel music like never before.

Sean Ono Lennon said of the project and his father’s legacy:
Sean Ono Lennon said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Lumenate on this release to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month.” “I think our mind games project is fun, meaningful, and potentially expands your thinking. I have been using the Lumenate app for personal meditation since it was released, and have used it a lot. My father was famously obsessed with meditation, and I remember trying out a “flicker machine” that he had in his bedroom. That first introduced me to the idea of stroboscopic EEG guidance. I thought it made sense to combine the music from Mind Games with the science from Lumenate. I really hope people enjoy the results as much as I do. ”
