The East Whatcom Regional Resource Center will be hosting a wellness fair on Saturday, May 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering free services and resources to community members.
Comprehensive and consistent health care services are not available in East Whatcom County.
It will be held at 8251 Kendall Rd. The fair in Maple Falls brings together local health care providers and Whatscom County Health and Community Services.
Insurance is not required to receive services. Spanish, Russian, and Ukrainian interpreters are available on-site.
The health department says members of the East Whatcom community interested in receiving medical checkups, dental care, vision care, and other services can RSVP by visiting this link or calling 360-599-3944 I said it was necessary. Transportation to and from the event will be available with RSVP, according to a press release from the health department.
In addition to medical services, the trade show includes mental health services, pick-up of expired or unused medications, support for obtaining or replacing driver’s licenses and identification cards, harm reduction resources, and GRACE (coordinated with ground-level response). Contains information about LEAD and LEAD. (Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion) program, and intensive case management services.
A complimentary lunch will be provided from Common Threads Food Truck.
According to a release, the event honors the late Katherine Mahaffey, a community member who was dedicated to the well-being of residents.
